There finished

Well, I finally finished them on Christmas Day. I absolutely love them. They are a little shorter than I planned but they are perfect in all other ways. After three versions I finally came up with a pattern that works and looked good on. They are warm and fuzzy and not scratch since I opted out of using wool. My fingers are free but they still have the option to hide if the cuffs are folded up.

MATERIALS

4 Skeins ; 105 yds

1 set US #5/3.75mm circular needles

Gauge 6st, 7 rows = 1 inch

DIRECTIONS

CO 42 sts using the long tail cast-on method on circulars.
Join and work in k2, p2 rib for 6inches.
At the beginning of the round, *K2, P2*three times, K1, p1 then bind off 8 stitches buttonhole
k2, p2 rib for 2 rows
K2, p2 together,K2,p2,K2,p2,K2,p2 together, K2,p2,k2,p2 together, *k2,p2 three times, k2,p1together, *K2p2 for the rest of the circle
k2, p2 rib except on decrease section where it is p1 for 2 inches
increase in each p that was decreased before
K2,P2 rib for 14 inches
BO all stitches. (I bound off with a crochet hook to increase the stretch, but it did cause them to flair at the ends.)
Weave in ends.
Do button hole stitch around the thumbholes to reinforce the holes.
